Who you are
You're a problem-solver who enjoys working with people and improving processes. You have experience in IT procurement and you're confident interpreting and advising on policy, procedures, and value-for-money decisions. Your strong communication skills help you build relationships and manage expectations effectively.
What you'll do
Reporting to the Senior Category Specialist (ITDS), you will:
* Procure ITDS goods and services by coordinating supplier quotes, purchase orders, invoices and delivery tracking, ensuring compliance with UniSQ policies.
* Review ITDS requests for compliance with UniSQ support, warranty, and security requirements.
* Maintain accurate ITDS asset records for transparency and lifecycle management.
* Advise and educate staff on procurement policy, ADEB requirements, and ITDS-specific restrictions.
* Engage with stakeholders and vendors to manage procurement transitions and anticipate supply challenges.
* Monitor technology trends and market conditions to inform advice and reduce risk.
* Contribute to procurement transformation by identifying workflow improvements and supporting system enhancements.
What will help you succeed
Together with your relevant qualifications in Business, IT, Procurement or a related discipline, you will have:
* Demonstrated experience managing IT procurement and asset management within a complex organisation.
* Knowledge of procurement policies, IT security requirements, and asset lifecycle management.
* Strong organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to provide clear, policy-based advice.
Your experience in higher education or public sector procurement, familiarity with UniSQ systems (HUB, PeopleSoft, Unimarket) and an understanding of IT product lifecycles, warranty arrangements and consumer law will also be highly regarded.
