The Camdenton R-III School District is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our English department at the Middle School. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing students' skills in literature, writing, grammar, and vocabulary to develop critical thinking and communication skills. We are looking for an educator dedicated to promoting and encouraging a culture of \"Everyone Learning Every Day.\"
Qualifications
* Must possess a Bachelor's degree in English or related field and maintain a proper Missouri teaching certificate for Middle School (certified for 1-6, 5-8 or 6-12)
* Pass all background checks and screenings
Essential Functions and Key Responsibilities
* Administer English education curriculum consistent with school district goals and objectives
* Promote a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized, small group instruction, and classroom learning
* Develop lesson plans and instructional materials and translate lesson plans into learning experiences to develop pertinent sequential assignments, challenge students, and best utilize the available time for instruction
* Teach literature analysis, writing composition, grammar, and vocabulary tailored to varying student abilities
* Conduct ongoing assessment of student learning and progress, and modify instructional methods to fit individual student's needs
* Continue to acquire professional knowledge and learn of current developments in the educational field by attending seminars, workshops or professional meetings, or by conducting research
* Organize and maintain a system for accurate and complete record-keeping, grading, and reporting for all student activities, achievement and attendance as required by district procedures and applicable laws
* Encourage parental involvement in students' education and ensure effective communication with students and parents
* Ensure that student conduct conforms to the school's standards and school district policies, and establishes and maintains standards of student behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the classroom
* Collaborate with other teachers, school staff, and administrators to enhance the educational experience
Additional Duties
Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Middle School Principal and other central office administrators as designated by the Superintendent.
Terms of Employment
* 9 month contract (179 days)
* Salary Schedule: commensurate with education and experience. Base salary starts at $43,500
