We are looking for a motivated, self-driven and caring Practice Nurse (EEN or RN) to join our expanding and ever-evolving team. The role is mainly based in Pakenham.

OZ Skin Cancer Clinics is well established skin cancer consulting and procedural practice. We offer state of the art investigation and treatment for skin cancers. Our model is not corporate, but rather based on giving the best patient care possible. The clinic is well recognised by the local community and have grown substantially during the last 8 years.
What we are looking for:
Practice Nurse
- Part time, Casual, 12 hours a week (Monday and Thursday) with some flexibility required for covering annual leave

About the Role
The successful applicant will work closely with our skin cancer doctor to assist in skin check and minor procedures. We are seeking someone who is able to multitask and interested in learning new skills. This is a very hands-on nursing role with lots of variety in a fast-paced and supportive environment. Comprehensive training is provided on the job. Excellent communication skills and a high level of attention to detail are essential. You will also be required to cover some reception duties as part of the job.
Your Role will include:
- Clinical photography
- History taking, triaging and assisting skin check
- Work closely with our doctors during biopsy and minor procedures
- Wound care, suture removal
- Medication preparation
- Maintaining clear and accurate clinical documentation, including clinical photography
- Patient education including skin cancer prevention and treatment (surgical and non-surgical), wound care, procedures and post-op care
- Maintaining, monitoring and improving patient information systems including patient register and recall systems
- Implementing and practicing infection control
- Sterilising instruments, managing contaminated waste
- The safe disposal of sharps
- Triaging patients for urgent appointments
- Inventory and equipment management
- Identifying & contributing to the development of patient educational needs
- Administration support & reception duties
Essential Criteria
- Minimum two years nursing experience in Australia
- Have an unrestricted work permit or be a resident
- Hold relevant Professional Registration with AHPRA;
- Skilled indemnity cover
- Computer literacy and familiarity with software programs used within General Practice (experience with Best Practice program is desired but not essential);
- Ability to prioritise, organise and perform tasks efficiently;
- Strong time management and "can do" attitude;
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in a team environment;
- Great bedside manner;
- Ability to work both independently and co-cooperatively in a team environment;
- Commitment to ongoing training;
- Maintain patient and staff confidentiality at all times;
- First Aid /CPR accreditation.
- Knowledge of aseptic technique, infection control
