Job Title: Emergency Department Nurse
The Emergency Department is a dynamic environment that provides care for both adult and paediatric patients. It features 25 acute treatment areas, 3 resuscitation bays, triage and assessment zones, as well as a Fast-Track area for less acute cases.
The department also manages a 12-bed Short Stay Unit. On average, the ED treats around 140 patients every 24 hours, handling a wide range of clinical presentations and serving a culturally diverse community.
As a referral centre for Central Queensland, the department manages a significant number of critically unwell and trauma patients, working closely with healthcare services to deliver high-level care.
About the Role:
As an Emergency Department Nurse, you will provide safe, evidence-based and patient-focused care, contributing to the efficient operation of the department through effective teamwork within a multidisciplinary setting.
You will utilise strong interpersonal and communication skills to support professional practice, including delegating and supervising Enrolled Nurses and nursing students.
The role requires the ability to recognise and respond to deteriorating patients and to actively engage in quality improvement and research initiatives to enhance patient care outcomes.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the relevant health authority
* Current annual practicing certificate
* Advance Life Saving and Triage competencies highly desirable
