The program
The Event Specialist Volunteer plays a key role in the Community Mobilisation Team (CMT), supporting the CMT Event Coordinator with the delivery of Red Cross led community events and assisting Red Cross Branch Members and Volunteers elevate their fundraising events. This role helps ensure Red Cross can continue building strong, connected, and resilient communities by delivering high‐quality events and following essential processes. Volunteers will gain valuable skills and experience across a range of administration, logistical and all event functions.
The opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting the delivery of impactful community events. You'll be part of a dedicated team, contributing to event planning, logistics, coordination, and administrative processes that help bring Community Mobilisation Team‐led events to life. This role offers a chance to build your event experience while making a meaningful contribution. You will provide administrative and logistical support to the CMT Event Coordinator, including data entry, record management, permit applications, venue and vendor coordination, and other ad hoc tasks. You'll help prepare Event Management Plans, logistics briefs, rosters, and staffing schedules, while supporting broader project administration. A strong commitment to WHS, confidentiality, and teamwork is essential.
What You'll Bring
* Experience in event logistics or end‐to‐end coordination (highly regarded).
* Understanding of council permit processes.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Proficiency in MS Office and database systems.
* Excellent organisational and records‐management abilities.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Positive, can‐do attitude.
* Driver's licence (desirable).
The impact
In this role, you'll play a key part in supporting the delivery of safe, well‐organised, and engaging community events. Your support will help streamline planning, strengthen coordination, and ensure event teams have the information and resources they need to succeed. By keeping logistics on track and administration running smoothly, you'll directly contribute to positive community experiences and the overall success of CMT‐led events.

* For this role you will be required to undertake a National Police Check, which will be organised through Red Cross.
* You will need to provide a recent copy of your CV or provide details for two professional references.
* The role will also require you to hold or apply for a Working With Children Check or Working With Vulnerable People Check depending on your State/Territory. If you don't have this Red Cross can assist you to apply for this check.
