We also provide dedicated carer supports and deliver funded grants that offer free programs for people with disability and tailored assistance for carers. About the Role
We are seeking a passionate and community-minded Peer Support Leader to assist in delivering our grant-funded activities for people living with disability. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys connecting with others, creating welcoming environments, and developing their own facilitation skills with support.
You will work closely with the Program Manager to coordinate, organise, and help facilitate events and workshops. Your role will also include participant engagement, event promotion, and general administrative support. As an identified role, your lived experience is considered a vital contribution to the success of our programs.
Key Responsibilities
Event Support & Facilitation
* Assist in planning, organising, and setting up program events and activities.
* Co-facilitate group sessions, workshops, and peer support activities.
* Develop skills in solo facilitation with guidance and mentorship.
* Contribute ideas to make programs inclusive, accessible, and engaging.
Participant Engagement
* Contact registered participants with event reminders, updates, and warm follow-up.
* Help create a supportive and inclusive environment for all attendees.
Marketing & Promotion
* Assist with advertising and promoting events through social media, community networks, email lists, and printed materials.
* Help ensure that event information is clear, accessible, and engaging.
Administration
* Support with admin duties including data entry, attendance tracking, participant communication, and feedback collection.
* Assist the Program Manager with reports and documentation connected to grant activities.

About You
We're looking for someone who:
* Has lived experience of disability, neurodivergence, or mental health challenges (Identified role).
* Is passionate about community, peer support, and inclusion.
* Communicates with warmth and respect.
* Is organised, reliable, and comfortable juggling multiple tasks.
* Has an interest in developing facilitation and leadership skills.
* Has basic digital and administrative skills (email, documents, social media, etc.).
* Holds a Minimum Cert iii in relevant field (highly desirable)
Desirable (but not required):
* Experience in community work, facilitation or disability
* Understanding of accessibility or inclusive practice
* Confidence or interest in speaking in front of groups.
