The Team
The Licensing team is ASIC's front-line gatekeeper for regulated participants. The team is responsible for assessing applications from those seeking a financial services or consumer credit licence, or registration to provide company audit and SMSF audit services to Australian consumers and businesses. The function involves ensuring applicants are fit and proper, possess the necessary knowledge and skills, have adequate resources, and maintain appropriate systems and procedures to perform their roles efficiently, honestly and fairly.
The Role
As an
Analyst
, you will:
Assess moderate and more complex Australian Financial Services Licence and Australian Credit Licence applications
Assess more complex registered company and self-managed superannuation fund auditor registrations
Supervise the assessment of AFS and credit licence applications and company and SMSF auditor registration applications
Prepare and assist with the drafting of briefs for refusal of a licence
Deal with enquiries relating to assessment and decision making
Assist and take a proactive approach to refining and implementing Licensing process improvements and changes to regulatory guidance
Supervise delivery of internal priorities or functions at the direction of the Senior Manager
Coach and mentor other team members, actively sharing knowledge within the team
Drive and participate in process and policy improvements
Undertake reasonable care for your own health and safety and that of others in the workplace that may be affected by your actions
About You
A relevant tertiary qualification
Relevant knowledge and experience in the financial services industry
Experience in researching, analysing and interpreting complex information and legislation to resolve complex customer queries
Demonstrated high quality written and oral communication experience and the ability to successfully engage with all types of stakeholders
Previous experience in mentoring and coaching others
Ability to work through challenging, ambiguous, and complex issues calmly and logically
Proven stakeholder management experience including influencing, problem solving and conflict resolution
Strong organisational and project management skills
