Job Overview
The ideal candidate will be a mechanical engineering expert with extensive experience in building services consulting engineering practices. The role involves preparing mechanical engineering design documentation, collaborating with other design teams and disciplines to deliver project-related tasks that meet quality, timeframe, and safety targets.
Key Responsibilities:
* Preparing technical documents for mechanical engineering projects from concept to construction phase, ensuring compliance with commercial, regulatory, and safety standards.
* Collaborating with cross-functional teams to coordinate project design solutions.
* Assisting in delivering project-related tasks to meet quality, timeframe, and budget targets.
* Interfacing with relevant authorities and stakeholders.
* Attending site inspections and working with trade contractors to ensure designs are installed according to briefed requirements.
* Project leading on small to medium-sized projects.
* Mentoring junior engineers and contributing to the development of the mechanical discipline.
Requirements:
* Bachelor to Master degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Building Services).
* Extensive experience in Australian building services consulting engineering practices.
* Strong knowledge across various building sectors, including commercial, health, laboratory, pharmaceutical, education, aviation, transport, or defence.
* Experience with mechanical building services engineering design and various types of mechanical services systems.
* Comprehensive understanding of Australia Standards and Building Code of Australia.
* Excellent time management, written communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
* Proficiency in mechanical design software such as CAMEL.
* Registered Building Practitioner/Professional Engineer qualifications and/or Engineers Australia chartership would be advantageous.
* Understanding and modeling capability using Revit MEP, NavisWorks, and BIM would be highly advantageous.
* Engineering project leading/management skills would be highly advantageous.
