Details: Digital Canberra is seeking an experienced and strategic leader to fill the role of Director, SAMP Procurement within the Strategic IT Asset Management (SAMP) Branch.
This role sits at the centre of a whole‑of‑government ICT asset management reform agenda and is responsible for leading procurement strategy, governance and delivery across a multi‑year ICT asset refresh pipeline. Working in a complex and dynamic environment, the Director will shape and influence how the ACT Government plans, sources and manages ICT investments to ensure sustainability, value for money and alignment with broader digital and infrastructure strategies.
The Director will lead the development and implementation of contemporary procurement approaches, including establishing preferred supplier arrangements, driving market engagement, and embedding repeatable, scalable sourcing pathways. The role provides authoritative advice to senior executives, program leaders and technical stakeholders on commercial strategy, risk allocation, and procurement governance, ensuring that procurement activities support program delivery outcomes and long‑term asset lifecycle objectives.
As a key member of the SAMP leadership team, the Director will contribute to the maturity and performance of ICT asset management across government by strengthening commercial frameworks, improving procurement efficiency, and enabling informed, data‑driven investment decisions. The role requires strong leadership, the ability to build and influence partnerships, and a demonstrated capacity to operate at a strategic level while delivering tangible outcomes in a complex stakeholder environment.
