Key responsibilities:- The focus of your role will be to perform engineering surveying projects through all phases of the project cycle to ensure services meet all objectives. To do this you will:- Work within relevant standards, policies, guidelines and legislative requirements.- Maintain and utilise current knowledge and engineering surveying standards.- Ensure quality aspects of the projects are identified and addressed.- Undertake specialised survey projects and provide technical expertise and consultancy service in geospatial applications to a diverse range of customers to ensure success, value for money and best practice are adopted.- Plan, assign, direct, supervise, and coordinate work activities of team members as required.- Manage and maintain effective liaison and communication with internal and external stakeholders on all matters relating to survey projects.Mandatory qualifications and conditions:- A minimum of a 3-year degree in Surveying from a recognized tertiary institution, or a qualification that is acceptable for registration as a surveyor with the Surveyors Board of Queensland (SBQ).- A current Class 'C' Drivers Licence.Requirements of the role:- Determine survey scope, develop suitable reference frameworks, and perform complex surveying and auditing activities.- Apply a high and complex understanding of data and information acquisition and management and contribute to the discipline.- Apply knowledge independently and guide others in applying engineering surveying principles and methodologies in locating, controlling, measuring, and auditing transport projects.- Use data and leverage technology to achieve greater efficiencies; challenge the status quo by asking questions to bridge information gaps and clearly define new opportunities.- Demonstrates awareness of others by tailoring messages so they resonate with stakeholders of diverse interests and backgrounds. Initiates two-way collaborations by providing information and advice in a timely, proactive and non-technical manner, supporting the team to do the same.
