Overview
Commercial Aquatics Australia (CAA) is the largest and most experienced commercial pool company operating across Australia. We provide design, construction, renovation, filtration and service & maintenance for aquatic centers, schools, hotels, and other facilities.
If you have contract administrator experience and are looking to start your career, CAA is recruiting for a Project Coordinator to join our Balcatta office with regular site visits. The ideal candidate will come from a specialist subcontractor or commercial construction background, with robust coordination, people management and computer/software skills.
To be considered for this role candidates would ideally have proven experience in the following:
- A tertiary qualification in Construction Management & Economics/Engineering/Quantity Surveying or relevant industry experience from a specialist subcontractor (Mechanical/Electrical/Plumbing) is preferred but not essential.
- Experience as a Contract Administrator/Quantity Surveyor managing multiple projects in the commercial construction industry is preferred.
- An understanding of the construction industry and the laws that govern it.
- Knowledge of contract law.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with people of all levels.
- Negotiation and problem-solving skills.
- Time management and organisational skills; ability to work to deadlines and under pressure.
- A positive attitude, high initiative and strong interpersonal skills to build long term, mutually beneficial working relationships.
Responsibilities
- Overall administration of assigned projects (multiple), including project setup, maintaining and tracking the construction program, coordinating activities on projects, and ensuring compliance with required procedures and standards.
- Identify and manage contractual risk; be accountable for time, cost and quality in delivery.
- Oversee procurement and hiring of subcontractors.
- Contribute to construction meetings focusing on cost and improvement; manage document control and project files in line with the company BMS.
- Attend client and subcontractor meetings; assist with managing key issues in administration and site management.
- Oversee negotiation of claims, variations and close-out of accounts.
- Obtain approvals from relevant authorities and oversee the certification process.
- Support, lead and guide project teams to ensure clear communication between site management and administration.
- Produce up-to-date monthly project reporting, including forecasts, cost forecasting/cash flow and variations.
- Review site inspection reports and ensure raised items are addressed and closed out.
- Collect warranties, certificates, manuals and As-Built drawings; prepare Operations and Maintenance Manuals.
- Enforce adherence to OH&S; and safe-work practices on site.
