This recruitment pool covering several different Vocational Support Positions will run for a period of twelve months and may be used to fill ongoing fixed term contracts and permanent opportunities.
Currently, there are four(4) permanent position(s) available for immediate filling.

About the role
Hakea Prison is the primary remand, receival and assessment prison for male metropolitan prisoners. As such, it is the first point of contact for the majority of prisoners entering the prison system. It is unique as a facility having the dominant proportion of its population as unsentenced prisoners.
Vocational Support Staff (VSO) facilitate the operation of various industry workshops and prisoner services around the Hakea Facility. Depending on the position, VSO staff provide on-the-job instruction and supervision to prisoners working in the area and assist in providing meaningful employment to prisoners while in custody.
The positions currently available for filling are:
* VSO2 Laundry Officer
* VSO4 Maintenance Supervisor
Minimum Qualifications
* Laundry Officer (VSO2) - completion of Chemical Handling Skill Set, or a willingness to undertake and complete
* Industrial Relief Instructor (VSO3) - Construction Industry White Card AND a Certificate III in cabinet making/ furniture making/ engineering
* Construction and Maintenance Supervisor (VSO4) - Construction Industry White Card AND Certificate III in a construction trade/ building and construction/ building maintenance/ appliance service

Pool Recruitment
This pool will be open for a period of 12 months from the day after the breach of standard claim period closes. Permanent, fixed term, full time appointments may be offered as vacancies arise; however, an appointment is not guaranteed.
