**About the Assignment**
- Lead Planner
- Dorado Project
- Perth, WA Based
The Lead Planner will be responsible for leading and developing the Dorado planning team and project schedule. This position is responsible for maintaining standard Santos project controls processes, procedures, reporting and management systems.
**Tasks include**:
- Manage, supervise, and organize activities of the Dorado Planning Team, including:
- Systems and procedures development to establish a new Planning Team
- Set team development goals in collaboration with individuals
- Coach and develop the team to optimise performance and commitment
- Development and maintenance of a fully integrated project schedule, Basis of Schedule and corresponding progress measurement documentation
- Detailed development and reporting of the project's physical progress, including senior management interfacing (reporting and presentations)
- Prepares and ensures development of deliverables for FID Assurance gates, interface with external benchmarking functions and other corporate Assurance Reviews
- Contributes to risk management, mitigation and contingency planning
- Owns, maintains and delivers against the project Basis of Schedule / Schedule Development and Progress Measurement Plan
- Lead 'critical path' identification, analysis, monitoring and reporting
- Analysis of schedule trends to support management in assessing project status and outcomes
- Facilitates schedule risk management, mitigation and contingency planning
- Ensures early identification of schedule risk and slippage, including mitigations to ensure baseline progress is achieved
- Exercises oversight of and interfaces with Contractors' Planning Teams
- Lead periodic audits of Contractor and its Subcontractor's / Vendor's progress status and procedural compliance.
- Managing multiple Contractors / Vendors in the recording and identifying of schedule events that could lead to a contractor claim
- Compliance with the Santos Management System (SMS)
- Compliance with the Santos Delegation of Authority (DOA)
- Compliance with the Santos Corporate Governance and Safety requirements
**Essential Professional Experience Required**:
- Experience in Operator contractual / commercial management on major EPC/EPCI project environments
- Excellent written and spoken English language communication skills
- Proactive management and collaborative leadership skills;
- Highly developed inter-personnel skills to deal effectively with direct reports, peers, partners and contractors
- Highly effective communication skills and ability to develop and present management reports at all levels
- Able to prioritize responsibilities
- Results orientated and focused on achievement of the business and projects overall objectives
- Familiar with the use of proprietary and custom computer software systems used for project management (PIMS, Primavera, Pertmaster, Prism)
- Demonstrated interpersonal/teambuilding skills
- Analytical/technical skills with a practical approach to problem solving
- Solves routine problems with no supervision
- Adapts to significant changes, acquires new skills as needed and deals with conflicting priorities
- Provides sound, well supported and documented recommendations, including alternative solutions
**This assignment is initially offered for 12 months, engaged via Chandler Macleod.**
**Location for this assignment is Perth working full-time office hours**
**About You**
- Minimum 10-15 years of Planning experience, preferably in major Oil & Gas projects or commensurate related experience.
- Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g. AACE)
- Strong depth and breadth of knowledge and technical competency in Planning, with proficiency in the following:
- Schedule development and analysis
- Progress measurement evaluation (EV, SPI, CPI)
- Quantitative Cost and Schedule Risk Analysis
- Expertise in the scheduling program Primavera P6
- Monte Carlo schedule risk analysis experience desirable
- Experience with building, developing and leading teams
- A relevant undergraduate qualification in a quantitative discipline such as economics, finance, commerce, engineering, or any other applied science desirable
