Job Summary:
A Tour Guide leads visitors on guided tours, offering informative and engaging commentary about historical, cultural, or natural attractions. They ensure guests have a safe, enjoyable, and memorable experience while representing the organization professionally.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead groups of tourists to designated locations such as historical sites, museums, parks, or cities
* Provide accurate, engaging, and informative commentary about attractions
* Plan and organize tour itineraries and schedules
* Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants
* Answer questions and provide recommendations to visitors
* Manage group dynamics and maintain a positive atmosphere
* Handle unexpected situations or emergencies calmly
* Coordinate with drivers, hotels, and other service providers
* Collect tickets, fees, or verify bookings when required
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* High school diploma or equivalent (degree in tourism, history, or related field preferred)
* Strong communication and storytelling skills
* Knowledge of local history, culture, and attractions
* Fluency in one or more foreign languages (advantage)
* Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
* Ability to manage groups and solve problems quickly
* Physical stamina for walking or standing for long periods
Work Environment:
* Outdoor and indoor settings (museums, landmarks, cities)
* May involve travel, irregular hours, weekends, and holidays
* Exposure to varying weather conditions
Additional Requirements:
* Tour guide certification or license (depending on location)
* First aid/CPR certification (preferred)
* Full Australian Drivers License
Pay: Up to $65,000.00 per year
