As a Sanctions Control Manager, you will play a key role within Financial Crime Threat Management to help the bank manage the sanctions risks. In this role, you will be responsible for:

* Identifying sanctions risks posed by the customers to ANZ through several trigger events such as payments declined to be processed by ANZ or other financial institutions, red flag activities, involvement in high-risk industries, and regulatory enforcement alerts

Your key accountabilities will include:
* Ensuring sanctions enhanced due diligence is conducted in a timely manner and in compliance with the ANZ Sanctions Policy and Standard
* Building collaborative relationships with key stakeholders across the first-line business units primarily Australia Retail and Commercial and Pacific as well as other Financial Crime teams to achieve the objectives of completing a comprehensive Sanctions Enhanced Due Diligence (SEDD)
* Ensuring that the controls recommended as part of the sanctions enhanced due diligence are embedded or executed by the relevant teams
* Reporting on the key metrics relating to the SEDD as tracked in various forums and providing insights

What will you bring?
To be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:
* Financial Crime investigation experience
* Understanding of customer behaviour, counterparty risks, and jurisdictional risks
* Strong decision-making skills
* Time management and planning skills
* Product knowledge, particularly cross-border trade and payments
* Strong verbal and written communication skills
* Ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships

You're not expected to have 100% of these skills. At ANZ a growth mindset is at the heart of our culture, so if you have most of these things in your toolbox, we'd love to hear from you.
So why join us?
From the moment you join ANZ, you'll be doing meaningful work that will shape a world where people and communities thrive.
But it's not just our customers who'll feel your impact. You'll feel it too. Because at ANZ, you'll have the resources, opportunities, and support you need to take the next big step in your career.

That's why we have a range of flexible working arrangements, so our people can 'make work, work for them'.
