We are looking for a Director of Sales and Marketing to join our talented team and lead our Sales and Marketing department. Reporting to the General Manager, in this pivotal role, you will develop and implement a multi-year strategic sales and marketing plan to contribute to total revenue, market performance and profitability goals for the Hotel. At the heart of this plan will be a clear and differentiated positioning for rooms, restaurant, bars, meetings and events to both existing and potential target audiences identified through effective use of customer and market insights.
Lead, coach, and develop the sales and marketing team to deliver exceptional results
Analyse market trends and performance reports to identify opportunities and maximise revenue
Oversee sales activities, marketing campaigns, and public relations efforts
Build strong partnerships with clients and stakeholders, promoting the Companies image
Prepare and manage budgets, forecasts, revenue and the hotel marketing plan
The successful candidate will also become a key member of the hotels Executive Committee, the hotels senior leadership team who develop and drive the hotels future strategic planning as well as implementing current year hotelwide goals and objectives.
Your responsibilities:
* Sales and Marketing Director in developing and executing the MICE segment strategy.
* Ensure achievement of budgeted targets for rooms, banqueting, and F&B revenues.
* Oversee quotations for group leads (+10 rooms), ensuring optimal revenue generation.
* Supervise the use of relevant tools for accurate group data and contracting.
* Lead and support Executives in both cluster and decentralized hotel teams.
* Ensure smooth handover of confirmed groups to hotel operations and maintain strong communication.
* Prepare weekly projections and standard reports on group demand and production.
* Analyse conversion rates and define actions to improve business acquisition.
* Promote and attend site inspections to increase conversion rates.
* Maintain strong relationships with clients and ensure exceptional service delivery.
* Ensure negotiations and contracts align with policies.
* Collaborate with Property Managers and Revenue Management to define optimal pricing and sales conditions.
What we need from you
You will have proven experience and successful results in demonstrating commercial acumen by maintaining awareness of unfolding business performance, market influences & trends and commercial agility by adapting tactics and plans to enable the hotel's businesses to stay ahead of the curve. This includes success as a director of sales and marketing or assistant director of sales and marketing, a highly experienced sales and marketing manager.
You will also be driven to achieve results with established commercial leadership experience within a hotel environment, a strong attention to detail with the ability to work autonomously as well within a team of other professionals. You must hold unlimited and unrestricted working rights for Australia.
What are we looking for:
Education: Degree in Tourism, Hospitality, or a related field.
A degree in Tourism, Hospitality, or related field is preferred, however, relevant experience will be considered in lieu of formal qualifications.
Experience: Minimum 2 years in a similar role, ideally with MICE and B2B experience.
A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in hotel sales and marketing leadership roles is required.
Languages: Fluent in English; a second language is a plus.
Strong communication and negotiation skills.
Hands‑on, results‑oriented approach with analytical thinking.
Customer service excellence and attention to detail.
Proficiency in Salesforce applications, Opera Cloud, Microsoft Office
