The Role

The acquisition of conventionally-armed, nuclear-powered submarines is an historic and transformative endeavour for Australia. The whole-of-nation effort to safely and securely deliver the cutting edge nuclear-powered submarine program (NPS Program) will transform Australia's economic and national security landscape for decades to come. The EL 2 Project Director Infrastructure will work with considerable independence is accountable to perform and achieve very complex development and delivery activities and tasks for facilities and infrastructure project work within an integrated workforce. The incumbent of this role will be required to have extensive knowledge of and compliance with legislative frameworks, government decision-making and the Australian Submarine Agency's (ASA) mission and policies requirements.

The EL 2 Project Director Infrastructure will be responsible for:

* Influencing and developing strategies, policies, priorities and operational practices in support of ASA objectives based on high-level decision-making and judgement.
* Providing strategic advice to Senior Leadership group (SLG) and ASA stakeholders; as well as leading and assuming accountability for very complex work or work programs that have strategic, political or operational significance.
* Leading a team and providing strategic direction to the branch, which can include developing business plans, strategies, priorities and monitoring workflow and performance.
* Evaluating and endorsing infrastructure projects to understand critical factors for success and lead activities to achieve continuous improvement.
* Analysing ASA, Defence and government policy and objectives; and providing strategic advice in relation to infrastructure projects.
