We are looking for experienced and qualified candidates to join our team.
Purpose of the Role: Our Bakers are key to the overall success of the business, helping to position Windmill Bakery as a powerhouse in the bakery industry and showing Windmill Bakery customers that quality, freshly baked products are a family delight.
The role is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of all facets of the business, including customer service standards, staff behaviour, skills, and performance, managing stock levels, presentation and merchandising of product, cleanliness and hygiene, management of expenses and overall store performance.
This role will require a high level of leadership skills, excellent product knowledge, good organisational skills, and self-management, to ensure that all Windmill Bakery systems and procedures are implemented consistently by an outstanding team and that the business continues to thrive.
Key Responsibilities and Duties: · Check the cleanliness of equipment and the workstation before start work to ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations.
· Weighing and measuring ingredients and checking the quality of raw materials for the daily production of baked goods.
· Kneading, maturing, cutting, moulding, mixing and shaping dough by manually and using industrial machineries at our Bakery following the standards.
· Monitoring oven temperature, products and baking times.
· Loading, baking, unloading, de-panning and cooling of batches of bakery products.
· Ensuring the freshness of all bakery items.
· Glazing baked products and decorating relevant items according to our Bakery requirements.
· Assist training and managing all Back of House staff.
· Ensuring all Back of House staff are well trained in the systems, processes and behavioural expectations of a Windmill Bakery and are supported and encouraged to improve and progress.
· Delivery of initial Windmill Bakery induction program and ongoing training programs to all staff as required.
· Building a positive workplace culture and harmonious work environment.
· Maintaining adequate inventory levels of all food items and liaising with retail staff to make sure stock levels are adequate.
· Managing stock orders within set budgets and ensuring rotation of stock for maximum product freshness.
· Emptying, cleaning and greasing baking trays, tins and other cooking equipment after been used.
· Managing the cleanliness of all work surface, floor, and storage areas during and after production.
· Ensuring compliance with all food handling and processing laws and WHS procedures.
· Creating systems and checklists as required to ensure all Back of House staff are performing essential tasks to the appropriate standard.
Relevant Qualifications: · Certificate III in Baking or equivalent of 3 years of work experiences to substitute for the formal qualifications listed above.
Relevant Experience: · At least three years of relevant experience as a Baker in similar capacity.
· Whilst previous management experience in a similar, food service business would be beneficial, training can be provided on the job for a candidate with transferable skills who is willing, responsible, a natural leader, coachable and keen to learn.
