The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced Cook to join the team at Crest Road Early Learning Centre to produce high quality, nutritious meals and snacks for up to 90 children each day.
This role is Part-Time working 30 hours per week.
Your role
* Plan, prepare and serve nutritious and well-balanced meals and snacks for children.
* Adhere to dietary and allergy safe guidelines.
* Develop diverse and appealing menus that cater to the children while promoting healthy eating habits.
* Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment, ensuring compliance with Food Safety Regulations.
* Manage inventory, order supplies and food expiration dates.
* Provide information and guidance to parents and staff regarding nutrition, dietary practices, and food allergies.
* Implement and maintain hygiene and sanitation practices to create a safe and healthy kitchen environment.
* Be available for set shift days and times Monday to Friday.
Successful Applicants must hold:
* A Food Safety Supervisor Certificate
* A Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or experience in a Cook role
* A current Working with Children’s Check and First Aid

At capacity our centre caters for up to 90 children with operating hours from 7:00am to 6:00pm.

About You
* Experienced in Menu planning, budgeting, stock ordering & control
* Experienced in dietary and allergy safe requirements.
* Experienced in ensuring a clean and safe kitchen environment in accordance with the relevant Food Safety regulations
* Be a Team Player with great communication and interpersonal skills
* Be available for set shift days and times Monday to Friday
Successful Applicants must hold
* A Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or an ACECQA approved Early Childhood qualification and experience in a cook role
* A current Working with Children Check and First Aid
* Completed or willing to complete Food Safety Supervisor Certificate
