Job Description
We require up to 160 reliable Horticulture and Nursery workers to harvest, sort and pack vegetables/fruit-related crops in Devonport Tasmania and the surrounding areas. You must be available to start work from March 2026 onwards and be available for up to 9 months, a minimum of 4-6 days per week, 8-10 hours per day, for the duration of the season. Some weekend work may be offered.
Work conditions and requirements
The positions involve varying early start times depending on crop availability and management requirements. Flexibility is a must, as the crops' growth and harvest are weather-dependent and may be intermittent. The positions involve outdoor work in varying weather conditions, from hot, dry conditions to very cold, wet, and muddy conditions. Random drugs and alcohol apply to this workplace. We need reliable and flexible workers who are physically fit and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
* Harvesting, cleaning, trimming, weeding, sorting fresh vegetables and fruits, and nursery work
* Regular lifting, constant standing, walking, and bending to pick, pack and sort products
* Communicate effectively and work well in teams from various cultural backgrounds

* Adherence to company Quality Assurance and OH&S requirements
* Availability for up to 9 months, up to 4-6 days per week, 8-10 hours per day
Wages and employment terms
Wages are paid on a full-time basis as per the Australian Horticultural Award 2020. The positions are offered through a Labour Hire agency.
