About Us
Just under an hour from Adelaide, St Hugo is in the heart of the Barossa Valley, surrounded by rolling vineyards and the picturesque Barossa Ranges.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Chef to join our established team of 4, on a full time permanent basis. You'll cook honest, ingredient‐led food with a tight‐knit brigade of four, learn from an established team, and help deliver unforgettable experiences in one of the region's premier cellar‐door venues.
About The Role
This position is ideal for someone who has recently completed a chef apprenticeship or equivalent qualification and is ready to take the next step in their career. You'll work under the guidance of our Executive Chef and Head Chef, supporting them in delivering exceptional dishes that showcase the best of the Barossa. You'll prepare fresh, seasonal produce, assist with plating and presentation, and maintain the highest standards of hygiene. Keeping the kitchen spotless and organised will be a key part of your role, along with supporting smooth service. From stock rotation and ingredient checks to equipment care and cleaning, you'll gain the skills needed to build a strong culinary foundation while contributing to exceptional guest experiences.

What You'll Do
* Execute outstanding, honest food aligned to our food‐and‐wine philosophy
* Help shape function menus and support events as needed
* Maintain stock, compliance, kitchen hygiene, and equipment standards.
* Uphold QSE policies (Quality, Safety, Environment) and RSA requirements.
Preparing fresh, seasonal ingredients and assisting with plating and presentation
Keeping the kitchen organised, clean, and efficient
What You'll Bring
* Recently completed a chef apprenticeship or equivalent qualification
* Passion for cooking and a strong desire to learn from industry leaders.
* Flexibility for a 7‐day operating environment and occasional after‐hours events.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
