About the role
This is a team augmentation role with an existing client. You'll design complex financial products used by teams operating across regions and regulatory contexts where clarity, speed, and trust matter.
Day-to-day, the job involves...
* Working with Product and Engineering to define problems, map flows, prototype interactions, and ship improvements to core product experiences.
* Turning ambiguity into clear options, trade-offs, and a recommended direction.
* Facilitating stakeholder alignment through effective critiques and workshops, and bringing people along the design journey with strong narrative and rationale.
* Producing high-fidelity interfaces from design system components with exceptional attention to detail (layout, hierarchy, state, motion, copy/labels, and accessibility fundamentals).
* Creating realistic Figma prototypes that communicate intent, with interaction models, componentised patterns, and clean file hygiene.
* Working in a remote-first environment with strong written communication: decisions, rationales, and progress communicated clearly and proactively.
We offer competitive contract rates commensurate with experience. This position is available to start ASAP, but if you're not available in the short term, we'd still love to hear from you as other opportunities may arise.
About you
You bring 7+ years of product design experience with a bias toward shipping. You care about craft, but you're equally strong at bringing stakeholders along with you.
You likely have:
* Fintech experience (or adjacent complex B2B SaaS): Exposure to global product considerations like multi-region users, complex permissions, and dense information.
* Great consulting and communication skills: You can parachute in, build trust quickly, facilitate alignment, and make compelling arguments for your work, both in writing and in meetings.
* High visual acuity: You sweat the details of interface and interaction design, consistently raising the bar for quality.
* Figma prototyping tekkers: You can wire up prototypes that clearly communicate complex product behaviour.
* Comfort working autonomously: You excel at unblocking yourself and collaborating tightly with Product and Engineering.
* A practical mindset: You balance user value with feasibility, sequencing, and time constraints.
* Experience redesigning major parts of a product or taking meaningful new surfaces from 0 to 1.
* Familiarity working within established component libraries and design systems: Using constraints well, and proposing improvements when patterns break.
