About the role
This is a 12-month, fixed term, full-time position working 35 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 9.00 am to 5.00 pm) and will be based at Council Administration Building, Nowra & Natural Disasters Office, Bomaderry The advertised salary is based on the grade of the position, comprising of 4 steps within the range shown. The starting salary is at Step 1 within the grade. Progression through the salary steps shall be based upon the achievement of performance objectives relating to the position. Duties
Reporting directly to the Manager – Budgeting & Analysis, the focus of this position is to:
4. Work closely with the Natural Disaster’s business unit to create real and active partnerships, be a trusted advisor and add value, by providing strategic input that will assist in decision making.
5. Develop, produce, and analyse accurate, timely and relevant financial management reports to the Natural Disaster’s business unit, as well as detailed supporting data to meet their financial information needs. Enabling them to understand the variances and proposing the opportunities for improvement.
6. Establish and maintain systems to manage and support the planning, forecasting and budgeting process. Working with and the Natural Disaster’s business unit to develop budgets and forecasts including the ongoing review of forward financial plans as required.
7. Co-ordinate, compile, and report on quarterly budget reviews.
8. Prepare monthly management reports for the Director as required.
9. Provide assistance with the management of the financial aspects of projects with state and federal government funding including the monitoring of expenditure, claims for payment and other funding requirements.
Skills & Experience
To be successful in the position, you will be/ possess:
10. Degree in Business, Commerce or equivalent
11. Class C Driver’s Licence
12. Proof of Australian residency or citizenship
