Your Impact Lead tax governance and international tax strategy across Oceania in a senior leadership role with broad regional impact, executive exposure and complex cross‑border scope. You will report to the General Manager, Tax & Treasury, shaping the region’s tax governance agenda, leading complex international tax matters, and strengthening the frameworks that support sustainable, commercially aligned tax outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Lead tax governance, risk and assurance across Oceania, including maintaining the region’s Tax Governance Framework aligned to ATO justified trust expectations, Board risk appetite and Global Tax standards.
Manage audits, disputes and regulatory engagement across Australia and New Zealand.
Provide technical leadership on transfer pricing, BEPS, Pillar Two, hybrid‑mismatch rules, CFC issues and other international tax matters.
Partner with the Global Tax team to execute international tax strategy, including cross‑border structuring, repatriation, transfer pricing frameworks and CbC/Pillar Two reporting.
Deliver clear reporting and recommendations to senior leadership, the Board and Audit Committee.
Lead, coach and develop a high‑performing team with a strong culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
About You
You are a senior tax leader with more than 15 years experience in complex international tax matters, ideally gained through extensive experience in a professional services environment and/or a complex global organisation.
Postgraduate qualifications in tax or law; CA/CPA or Masters of Tax highly regarded.
Experienced in leading engagement with, and review activities from, revenue authorities; experience with the ATO’s Top 100 justified trust programme beneficial.
Deep expertise in international tax, transfer pricing, and AU/NZ tax governance frameworks.
Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, commercial insights for senior stakeholders.
Strong analytical, problem‑solving and project management capability.
Demonstrated ability to influence and partner with senior leaders across a matrixed, global organisation.
A proactive, continuous improvement mindset with strong ownership and accountability.
