Role Description
This is a part-time, one day a week suitable for retiree on-site role for an Accountant based in Chatswood, NSW. The accountant will be responsible for managing accounts payable and receivable, ensuring accurate bookkeeping, and maintaining financial records. Additional tasks include preparing financial statements, reconciling accounts, assisting with budget preparation, ensuring compliance with tax regulations, and providing financial insights to support decision-making. Collaboration with the management team and offering financial recommendations will also be part of the role.
Qualifications
* Proficiency in accounting practices such as accounts payable and receivable management, financial statement preparation, and account reconciliations
* Experience with tax compliance and knowledge of local financial regulations
* Strong proficiency in spreadsheet software and accounting systems (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, or similar tools)
* Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to provide insightful and actionable financial advice
* Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to meet deadlines
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
* Professional certification (such as CPA or equivalent) is advantageous
* Experience in an educational or service-oriented organization is a plus
