Job Description Salary: $165,000 + Super The HSE Lead drives health, safety and environmental improvement across Sodexo's eastern seaboard operations. This role partners closely with operational leaders to provide expert safety advice, deliver strategic initiatives, and strengthen our Zero Harm culture.
The Role
* Build strong partnerships with Operational Directors, clients, HSE teams and support functions.
* Support the development and execution of the HSE strategy and improvement initiatives.
* Coach and educate leaders to embed safety leadership and drive cultural change.
* Provide expert technical HSE advice across operations, mobilisations and client interfaces.
* Ensure consistent, high quality safety support and alignment across all portfolio sites.
* Contribute to the review and improvement of the HSE management system.
* Lead, coach and develop the HSE professional team.
* Support incident investigations, including psychological injury and human performance insights.
* Drive manual handling and ergonomic risk reduction programs.
* Champion the Zero Harm Mindset culture program.
* Manage transitions to new WHS legislation and codes of practice.
* Analyse safety data and metrics to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
* Support tender responses, mobilisations and consultation forums.
* Lead HSE related projects, system improvements and innovation.
* Provide additional functional support as required.

* Proactively deliver strategic plans and influence safety culture across all levels.

* Communicate the HSE vision and priorities, promoting the Zero Accident Mindset.
* Engage operational teams to embed best practice and raise awareness of key risks.

* Build capability across segments to strengthen operational safety leadership.

* Promote open reporting and elevate high priority issues appropriately.
* Drive continuous improvement in HSE performance.
* Understand and manage HSE risks, enforce safety rules, and support incident reporting and investigation.

* Excellent written and verbal communication.

* Confident presenting to senior leaders, clients and teams.
* Strong problem solving, decision making and analytical capability.
* Skilled in time management, facilitation and organisation.
* Knowledge of change management and performance evaluation.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office and Power BI.
Education & Experience
* Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health, Environmental Science or related field.
* Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar HSE leadership role (mining experience preferred).
* Experience leading geographically dispersed teams in complex environments.
* Skilled in incident investigations and root cause analysis.
* Exposure to ISO 45001, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 (desirable).
* Experience managing psychosocial risk and human performance.
* Program design and project management experience.
