**Overview**:
Quality is one of the fundamental core requirements in our Operational Production site(s). Whether it be external supply, internal defect report and review, or internal process improvement, our Quality standards and mindset must be to the highest standard achievable. Such a mindset is only achieved by a dedicated and willing team striving to review, improve, and set a culture to be the best in our field and to supply a "Zero defect product" to our customers. As the Quality Manager, you will support the Operations in our Brisbane, Australia, manufacturing site, reporting directly to the Site manager.
**What will you do**:
- Define, control, and audit review the Management and Assurance of all quality functions and Operational continuous improvement projects.
- Manage and support all related business units with Internal and External Quality ISO auditing to ensure Operational compliance and certifications to all levels of business and customer standards.
- Manage External supplier audits, evaluations, and product approvals.
- Manage the Inwards good inspection systems to control/ quarantine defect Inventory supply and react swiftly and accordingly to non-conformance.
- Manage the Corrective action (CAR) system for external customers and suppliers and implement countermeasures from Corrective Action (CAR)
- Use lean Continuous Improvement (CI) tools to determine corrective action (CAR) and Root cause analysis (RCA). Implement findings and measure the effectiveness of change in due time.
- Support the Operational department managers with monthly Gemba plant walks monitoring, reviewing, and improving process flow chains.
- Manage a small team of Quality Control (QC) staff and in agreement with the Manufacturing Manager, set KPI Operational priorities on such reduction targets as Parts Per Million (PPM) defect rates and other nominated targets.
- Monthly reporting to the Site manager of current non-conformance, quarter by quarter, and yearly comparison trends and improvement KPI targets. Indirect reporting to the Global Quality team to ensure Quality data is collected and reported and suggested applicable control improvements are implemented.
- Support the New Product Development (NPD) process and the validation of new procurement suppliers through risk assessment of new raw materials, new suppliers or supplier changes, and process changes.
- Support the Technical business departments with compliance with the Australian National Livestock Standard (NLIS) requirements / other regulatory authorities.
- To assess, implement and measure effective Quality improvement change within the Manufacturing plant.
- Maintain a high standard of liaison, communication, and cooperation with all relevant stakeholders with whom it will be necessary to perform the job function and support the business operations.
Compliance with the Quality Assurance and Management system is vital to ensure we maintain, with the intent to increase our highest customer and product quality standards while continually improving our level of certification and compliance, both domestically and globally.
**Documentation and PV Responsibilities**:
- Maintain all documentation following Company and relevant quality standards.
- Adherence to all Company SOP's, Policies & Procedures
- Ensure that all potential PV and Product Quality Complaint information encountered is reported per the PV reporting processes and timelines described in Local and Global PV/ PQC training.
**EHS**:
- Ensure all relevant hazards and environmental aspects within the quality business unit areas are identified, documented, assessed, and controlled by EHS procedures.
- Ensure applicable relevant compliance with legal and other requirements.
- Ensure all Quality department employees receive such EHS information, instruction, training, and supervision as is necessary to perform their work safely and without significant risk to health or the environment.
- Ensure scheduled audits and inspections (for which you are responsible) are conducted in injunction with the EHS Manager and required corrective actions are developed and completed.
