Details: The Education Directorate (EDU) Asset Strategies team within Asset Management and Delivery Branch (AMD) provide policy and guidance in the strategic asset management of the EDU property portfolio. This includes functions such as managing the EDU Asset Management Software System (AMSS), provision of building information such as drawings and manuals, and the necessary asset management support and guidance to EDU operational areas such as maintenance and project works.

The Infrastructure Program Planner role will work as a part of the Asset Management Systems team to develop and maintain maintenance schedules for the range of maintainable assets within the AMSS. These schedules, in conjunction with the inbuilt asset data and AMSS functionality, will provide EDU with maintenance plans which have scope, responsibilities, timeframes and costs.

The team works flexibly from various ACT Government office locations across the ACT, from home and at schools according to operational requirements.

Applicants will require experience with building infrastructure and systems, facilities operations and maintenance, particularly in relation to the development and application of operational asset assessment principles; a proven ability to use complex software systems, including asset management software; strong attention to detail and good oral and written communication skills; and demonstrated stakeholder management, negotiation and liaison skills

In accordance with EDU policies, Infrastructure Program Planner will:

* Lead the development of Operational Asset Management Plans aligned with the Strategic Asset Management Framework.
* Support development of maintenance plans and schedules linked to specific assets and systems.
* Represent the Asset Strategies working group and liaise with internal and external stakeholders and service providers to gather asset registers and maintenance data for integration into the Asset Management Software System (AMSS).
* Support maintaining the AMSS maintenance and asset data to ensure integrity and quality, and manage the rolling routine program
* Support strategic asset management programs.
* Be responsible for the development and management of guidelines, standards and specialised reporting to support asset planning operations within EDU.
* Support stakeholders by creating and maintaining asset data, ensuring it is accessible, up to date and accurate.
* Collate and review data to provide a quality assurance assessment and improvement as required.
* Represent the Directorate, specifically Asset Strategies team in meetings, negotiations, and discussions with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
* Prepare correspondence, briefs, reports and operational documentation as required.

Eligibility/Other requirements:

The following capabilities form the criteria that are required to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position.

Professional and Technical Skills, and Knowledge

* Knowledge and understanding of facilities management and the development of strategic and operational asset strategies in accordance with ISO 55000.
* Knowledge of and demonstrated experience in the use of asset management software systems to assist in the development and maintaining of buildings and infrastructure assets, supporting capital works, production of maintenance plans, asset reporting, condition assessments, lifecycle planning, and program development.
* Well-developed communication, negotiation and representational skills including:
o Ability to write with influence; and
o Ability to manage and provide timely advice to internal and external stakeholders.
o Well-developed technical and asset data management skills
* Administrative and management skills of a high order including the ability to:
o Manage staff, contractors and consultants.
o Develop policies and procedures related to asset management; and
o Provide advice to other sections of the Directorate relating to asset management information.
* Ability to balance priorities, meet deadlines and to achieve positive results in a challenging environment.
* Ability to apply equity and diversity, workplace health and safety, customer service and participative management principles and practices in the workplace.

Mandatory

* Hold a relevant professional qualification in Engineering, Architecture or Project Management or accreditation with a professional body recognised within Australia; or
o Hold a relevant building degree; or
o Have significant building and/or infrastructure management knowledge and/or operational strategic asset management experience.

Notes: This is a temporary position available from 01 April 2026 to 10 April 2026. This position is available to ACT Government officers and employees only.

Selection may be based on application and referee reports only.

This position will be moving to a new workplace designed for activity-based working (ABW). Under ABW arrangements, officers will not have a designated workstation/desk.

Opportunities for flexible working options could include hybrid working, being a combination of working from home, designated office based and FlexiSpace working locations across the ACT, part-time hours, job-sharing, flexible start, and finish times.
