Design Engineer Here at CBCity The City of Canterbury Bankstown is one of the largest Council’s in NSW with the most culturally, socially and economically diverse communities in Sydney. We deliver 28 key services such as childcare, waste collection, parks maintenance, libraries, community facilities and aquatic centres to over 380,000 residents. The Role We are seeking a proactive and experienced Design Engineer to join our Asset Design team. This position will be responsible for delivering design documentation and cost estimates on assigned Capital works projects. *The role will be offered on a Permanent full-time basis Duties will include but not be limited to: Carry out site investigations and prepare preliminary designs and reports in line with investigation Prepare detailed documentation for tender and construction. Prepare cost estimates related to design documentation and in line with project budget. Developing and fostering good working relationships across Council and with internal and external project stakeholders. Serve as a tender evaluation panel member in the selection of contractors and consultants. You will have Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering recognised by Engineers Australia. C Class Driver’s Licence (Provisional P2 minimum) WHS construction induction (White Card) certification Minimum 3 year's industry experience working at the level of professional engineer in the field of design Skilled in areas of survey, analysis, design and documentation of civil infrastructure. Experienced in the application of current Australian Standards in particular TfNSW, AUSTROADS,AUS-SPEC and Australian Rainfall and Runoff Demonstrated competency in the use of civil engineering software programs viz. 12D, AutoCad, AutoTurn, ParkCAD, DRAINS, and HEC-RAS. Well-developed knowledge of construction cost estimating and extraction of quantities for civil infrastructure projects. Knowledge of and ability to prepare REFs (Review of Environmental Factors) for design projects in accordance with EP&A Act of 1979. Strong written and verbal communication skills. The salary range for this opportunity starts at $104,465 (Grade H, Step 1) CLA 12% super. *Salary may be negotiable dependent on skills and experience.
