Disability Support Worker Position
EMP Supports opened its doors in July 2021, with a mission to provide only the best disability support services for NDIS clients, focused on promoting choice & control.
The company started out as just one employee, CEO & Founder, Emily Perkins, and is now extremely proud of it's consistent and rapid year on year growth.
At EMP Supports, choice and control is our primary focus. This means allowing our participants to have the right to make their own decisions about what is important to them and to decide how they would like to receive their supports and who from.
Role Responsibilities
* Provide disability & mental health support to NDIS participants
* Availability on days & evenings during the week minimum (Wednesdays and Friday availability is a must)
* Participate in various community access activities
* Weekend availability desired
* Work with clients and staff in 1:1, 2:1 & 1:2 ratios
* Personal care for clients: showering, dressing, grooming and medication assistance
* Social support and transportation for social activities, sport & rec activities, shopping/groceries assistance, travelling and support clients to medical appointments and more!
* Support clients with domestic duties: light household cleaning, laundry and meal preparation
* Supporting clients with complex and/or challenging needs and behaviours
* Monitoring the well-being of clients and reporting on their progress
* Provide updates and shift reports on client progress and/or behaviour charts following each shift
* Participate in ongoing & regular training for professional development
* Present the best version of yourself each and every shift

What You Need
* Current First Aid Certificate/CPR
* NDIS Workers Check
* Valid Right to Work in Australia
* Current Australian Drivers Licence
* Reliable, registered, and insured vehicle
* Current Working with Children Check
* NDIS Worker Orientation Module
* Good interpersonal skills & written/verbal communication skills
* Possess an empathetic, compassionate & caring attitude
* Desired, but not essential: Personal care/hoist experience
* Desired, but not essential: Previous experience supporting people displaying behaviours of concern
Pay: $35.00 – $45.00 per hour
Expected hours: 10 – 20 per week
