Details: Victim Support ACT (VSACT) is seeking a highly motivated individual with excellent advocacy and communication skills to join our team at the Human Rights Commission.

If you have a passion working in a fast-paced role to support victims' engagement with the ACT criminal Justice system and facilitate their recovery from the impact of the crime, this could be the role for you.

Working within the Client Services Team (CST), the CST Program Coordinator supports the Victims of Crime Commissioner's functions under the Victims of Crime Act 1994 and Victims of Crime Regulation 2000 as well as the program functions held by the VOCC under the National Redress Scheme including the provision of counselling and the direct personal response (DPR).

The CST Program Coordinator is responsible for the development and implementation of the Victims' Justice Volunteer Program (the Program). This includes planning and delivering the Program, recruiting and supporting a team of volunteers, and developing and maintaining stakeholder relationships across the justice system to support the smooth operations of the Program. The Program supports clients during police reporting, meetings with prosecutors, court proceedings, preparation of victim impact statements, and applications for financial assistance

In addition to these duties, the CST Program Coordinator provides support to the Client Services Team Leaders as required in relation to overseeing the delivery of the Redress services (counselling/DPR).

Eligibility/Other requirements:

Compliance requirements/qualifications:

* Tertiary qualification in social work, counselling, psychology, human services delivery, criminal justice, law, or related disciplines is highly desirable.
* Experience with managing volunteers.
* Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community members, people from a Culturally and Linguistically Diverse background and people with a disability is highly desirable.
* Prior to commencing this role, a current registration issued under the Working with Vulnerable People (Background Checking) Act 2011 is required. For further information on Working with Vulnerable People registration refer to: Apply for or renew a WWVP registration - Access Canberra.
* This position requires a National Police Check.

Notes: This is a temporary position available for a period of 12 months with the possibility of permanency. A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and may be used to fill potential future vacancies over the next 12 months. Selection may be based on the application and referee reports only.
