Job Title: Temporary Receptionist / Paralegal Employment Type: 2-Week Temporary Contract (with potential for extension or permanency) Location: 100% Office-Based (No Onsite Parking) Hours: 9:30 AM – 5:00 PM (1-hour lunch break) Start Date: Immediate Practice Area: Criminal & Family Law About the Role: We are a small, close-knit law firm specialising in criminal and family law, seeking a Temporary Receptionist / Paralegal to support the practice from now until the 4th of July, with the possibility of an extension or even a permanent role next March. You’ll work in a hands-on support role, helping with both front desk reception duties and basic legal admin. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to gain further legal experience in a supportive environment with the possibility of future career growth. Key Responsibilities: Drafting letters and basic legal documents, including powers of attorney Preparing briefs Scanning and organising legal documents Answering phones and greeting clients at reception (low call volume) Occasionally walking a short distance (~150m) to collect documents General office administration and file management Requirements: Previous experience in a legal office preferred – familiarity with legal systems and processes a bonus Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong organisational skills and attention to detail Friendly and professional demeanor – team fit is important in our small office Police check (or willingness to obtain) is highly regarded COVID-19 vaccination required What We Offer: Opportunity to work in a well-regarded criminal and family law practice Potential pathway to permanent employment in early 2026 A welcoming and collaborative office environment Exposure to face-to-face client interaction and real legal practice If you’re ready to step into a dynamic role with potential for growth, we’d love to hear from you.
