About the role
Our Governance Support Unit has an opportunity for a Manager, Student Misconduct and Appeals to lead the University's approach to managing student misconduct and upholding academic integrity. Managing a small specialist team, the role oversees the investigation and resolution of academic misconduct matters across the University, including evidence gathering, case management and presenting matters at high-level committee hearings. The position plays a key role in strengthening a culture of academic integrity through the implementation of effective policies, systems and education for staff and students.
The role also contributes to the development and implementation of new approaches to case management as the University responds to emerging requirements and changes in the misconduct landscape.
About You
You bring strong investigative and analytical skills, with the ability to assess complex information, identify key issues and make sound, evidence-based decisions. You have extensive experience interpreting and applying rules, policies and legislation, with a strong understanding of natural justice principles.
In this role you will manage multiple complex cases simultaneously while maintaining clear judgement and delivering timely outcomes. You are an excellent communicator with strong negotiation and interpersonal skills, and you have the capability to lead and develop a small team. You are also comfortable working with data and systems to analyse case trends, inform policy development and improve processes, while delivering outcomes in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities. Other requirements include:
* A relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent professional experience.
* Experience implementing case management methodologies and administrative systems.
* Experience investigating, documenting and presenting complex cases.
* Experience analysing complex case data. (Desirable).
* Experience delivering training and education programs. (Desirable)
* Experience implementing communication and awareness initiatives.

A competitive base salary will be offered to the successful candidate, plus 17% superannuation (pension)
The position is full-time and will be made on a 2-year fixed-term basis (due to the changing internal and external environment).
