Downer's Rail & Transit Systems is undertaking the Queensland Train Manufacturing Program, a landmark project that involves the design, manufacture, and maintenance of 65 new six-car passenger trains to support Cross River Rail and the Brisbane Olympic and Paralympic Games.
This train manufacturing program requires skilled professionals to join our team in the electrical assembly, testing, and commissioning of next-generation railcars.
The successful candidate will play a vital role in performing wire cutting, labelling, crimping, and termination to precise specifications. They will also install electrical looms and components according to engineering drawings and work instructions.
A Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician or equivalent qualification is required for this position. Additionally, experience in terminating and connecting electrical wiring, including electrical crimping, as well as exposure and experience in fault finding are highly valued skills.
In this role, you will be working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to meet production and quality targets. You will also have the opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge in precision electrical and electronic measurement, dismantling, repairing, replacing, assembling, and fitting engineering components.
