Swan City Youth Service (SCYS) has been delivering services to disadvantaged and disengaged young people in the Midland area for 40 years.
For more than 20 years we have delivered in partnership with Midland TAFE a CGEA programme for disengaged young people. The CGEA II is the equivalent of a Year 10 Certificate and is the minimum requirement for further study, traineeship, apprenticeship or entry into the Defence Force.
This programme has grown rapidly this year, increasing from 8‑10 students on a Tuesday to over 20. Because of this growth we need a Volunteer to assist in tutoring some of our young people in English and Maths.
