Currently an exciting opportunity exists for an aspiring recent graduate from the field of Environmental, Chemical or Sustainability to join our Sustainability Team in Geelong.
**About the Role**
This is a newly created role in expanding sustainability team. Reporting to the Environment and Sustainability Manager, the role will involve the following:
- Support manufacturing operations in implementing sustainability initiatives, best practice environmental management and assist to minimise the environmental impacts of our operations (waste management, energy & water efficiency etc.).
- Undertake surveillance onsite to ensure we meet our environmental obligations
- Compile environmental data to support our legal and voluntary reporting obligations (NGER/NPI/APCO/ LCA/ CSR etc.)
- Assist external audits (ISO 14001 management system/ sustainability certifications) and monitor/maintain existing environmental management system (EMS)
- Work with peers across the organisation (Locally and internationally)
**About You**
With a passion for environment and sustainability, you will also have:
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Engineering/Science discipline (Environmental/ Chemical or Sustainability)
- 1-3 years of experience in relevant field is preferred, but not essential.
- Experience/ familiarity with ISO 14001 environmental management system (EMS) standards/Audits
- Understanding/familiarity with life cycle assessment (LCA) Sustainability reporting standards (ESG, GRI SASB etc.), Carbon emission assessment/GHG accounting & reporting standards is preferred, but not essential
- Strong attention to detail, excellent time management, prioritisation, and organisational skills
- Ability to operate effectively in a team environment and independently with little direction
- Strong verbal and written communication skills at a technical level
- Experience/ familiarity collecting & analysing industrial, or similar, environmental performance data is preferred, but not essential.
