Role
As the Health Practitioner, Capability Development, you will lead and coordinate the development of clinical disaster, emergency and continuity capability across Metro South Health, ensuring our services are prepared, resilient and able to respond effectively. Key aspects of the role include:
* Leading the design, delivery and continuous improvement of a health-service-wide clinical disaster, emergency and business continuity program.
* Collaborating with clinical teams to plan, train and exercise in alignment with legislation, standards and Metro South Health frameworks.
* Providing expert clinical advice during incidents, and representing Metro South Health in multi-agency disaster management groups and activities.
* Supporting service-wide preparedness, response and recovery activities, including clinical risk management, lessons management and program optimisation.
About You
You are an experienced clinical practitioner with advanced knowledge of disaster and emergency management, and you excel at building capability, leading change and collaborating across complex health environments. You will bring:
* Advanced clinical knowledge in disaster, emergency and mass casualty management, including strong understanding of Queensland Health disaster arrangements.
* Demonstrated ability to provide expert clinical planning, risk management and training advice, including development and delivery of bespoke training packages.
* High-level communication, negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to lead, influence and collaborate effectively in multi-agency environments.
* Proven capability to lead programs, prepare high-quality documentation and support evidence-based service improvement across a large, diverse health service.

Unit Profile
Metro South Health's (MSH) Disaster and Emergency and Continuity Management function is responsible for developing, and working across the health service to implement, effective disaster and emergency, incident, risk and business continuity management programs. This includes coordinated planning, training and exercising activities and incident management and emergency operations centre capability during response and recovery, in partnership with both internal and external stakeholders and across all administrative and clinical areas of operation.
