This is a key leadership position suited to an experienced accountant who is technically strong, client-focused, and ready to step into a more strategic role. You'll manage your own client portfolio, oversee and mentor junior team members, and work directly with the Partners on complex engagements and business advisory projects.
For the right candidate, this role will offer a clear pathway to Partnership supported by professional development, mentoring, and succession planning.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage and review the preparation of financial statements, management reports, and income tax returns for individuals, companies, trusts, and partnerships
* Provide strategic tax planning and business advisory services to a broad client base
* Conduct technical research and analysis for complex accounting and tax matters
* Build and maintain strong, trusted client relationships through proactive service and communication
* Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 2—4 junior and intermediate accountants
* Contribute to practice management, workflow efficiency, and process improvement initiatives
Requirements
* Minimum 5 years' experience in public practice accounting
* Strong technical understanding of Australian taxation and compliance
* Demonstrated ability to manage multiple client engagements with autonomy and accuracy
* Leadership experience or a proven track record mentoring junior team members
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills
* CA or CPA qualification (completed or near completion)
* A proactive, commercially minded professional who values continuous improvement and long-term career growth
