The Business, Communications, and Publishing Services Group delivers corporate functions which support the organisation by providing Human Resources (HR), finance, accommodation, communications, and publishing services.
The HR teams provide internal client service and support for workplace relations, workforce reporting, recruitment, learning and development, diversity and inclusion, work health and safety, and staff performance.

About you
We are seeking an enthusiastic HR professional with experience in workplace relations, HR policy, or workforce reporting. You will join a small team responsible for these functions delivering both operational work and a number of key projects including upcoming enterprise bargaining.
You will ideally have a good level of experience in providing HR advice to managers and employees, the ability to work independently with limited guidance, and enjoy working in a team environment.
Excellent attention to detail, and an aptitude for learning new systems and data analysis are required for this role.
Duties
The main duties of the Senior Human Resources Advisor include:
* Providing accurate, timely, and succinct advice on a broad range of HR matters, verbally and in writing.
* Assisting in the review or development of HR policies and procedures to align with the AIHW's Enterprise Agreement (EA).
* Leading the coordination of survey and reporting activities such as the APS Employee Census, gender equality reporting, and the annual APS Agency Survey.
* Supporting the new EA bargaining process, including performing secretariat duties, drafting documents and communication material, and ensuring strong record-keeping.
* Developing and implementing HR initiatives, including improved workforce reporting and HR resources such as intranet pages.
* Assisting with other reporting functions including drafting Executive Committee and Board papers, annual report content, and Questions on Notice responses.
* Providing secretariat support to the AIHW's Consultative Committee.
Eligibility
To be eligible to apply for this vacancy, you must:

A probationary period of six (6) months will apply to any new engagement to the APS.
