Aboriginal Youth Mental Health Outreach Worker

About the role
In this outreach role, you will work directly with Aboriginal and non‐Aboriginal young people experiencing mental health challenges, providing tailored, person‐centred support in community settings.
You will build trusted relationships with service users and their families, deliver one‐on‐one and group‐based interventions, and support individuals to navigate complex systems. The role involves developing and reviewing support plans, identifying risks, and connecting young people with the services they need to improve their wellbeing.
This is a permanent full‐time role based in Mirrabooka.
About you
You are someone who is empathetic, culturally grounded, and confident working in community‐based environments. You enjoy building relationships, can work independently, and are comfortable supporting people with complex needs.
You will have a strong understanding of Aboriginal communities and bring a trauma‐informed, strengths‐based approach to your work.
In addition, you will also possess:
* A relevant qualification in human services or demonstrated experience in a similar role
* Experience in case management and supporting individuals with mental health or complex needs
* Knowledge of trauma‐informed practice, particularly in Aboriginal contexts
* Strong communication skills and the ability to build trust with young people and families
* Connections with Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations and community networks (highly regarded)
* Current Driver's Licence
* Working with Children Check (WWCC)
* This is a Section 50D position under the Equal Opportunity Act 1984 (WA). Being Aboriginal is a genuine occupational requirement.
* National Police Clearance (obtained within the last six months)
