The Emergency Services Agency (ESA) is seeking a skilled Voice and Telecommunications Officer to ensure critical communications systems are reliable, secure, and ready to perform under pressure. In this hands-on technical role, you’ll maintain and support voice and telecommunication infrastructure that underpins emergency response across the Territory. From PABX and voice recording systems to audio and telecommunication services, you’ll play a vital part in keeping our frontline teams connected. In this technical role, you will: Provide expert support for PABX, voice recording, and telecommunications infrastructure. Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues across ESA environments. Collaborate with internal teams, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure reliable ICT services. Participate in a 24-hour, seven-day on-call roster to support critical emergency communications. What we’re looking for: Experience with voice and telecommunication systems, including PABX and audio technologies. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Ability to work collaboratively and deliver high-quality customer-focused support. Knowledge of Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) processes and relevant certifications in electronics or networks (desirable). A current ACT Government Chief Minister, Treasury and Economic Development Directorate (CMTEDD) issued Personnel Vetting Program certificate (Baseline clearance equivalent) is required for this position, or the ability to obtain and maintain one. Driver’s license class C is essential. Prior to commencing this role, a current registration issued under the Working with Vulnerable People (Background Checking) Act 2011 is required.
