Job Overview
* Design and deliver pre-sales designs and estimate costs for connection requests and bids, providing sales with essential information.
* Plan fibre optic paths using various assets including third-party leased assets and civil construction techniques such as new connections, capacity upgrades, network extensions, relocations, and cancellations.
* Create detailed plans for all fibre circuits, taking into account new connections, capacity upgrades, network extensions, relocations, and cancellations.
* Develop comprehensive plans based on designed specifications.
* Evaluate and implement Safety In Design Concepts while designing the fibre network, ensuring compliance and safety.
* Manage fibre records across the national network to ensure accurate tracking.
* Prepare splice schedules and designs for allocation to workforce and contractors, facilitating efficient task execution.
* Provide guidance and direction to workforce and contractors on allocated tasks as needed.
* Generate reports and perform other duties as requested by management to support the team.
* Ensure timely delivery of services according to specified deadlines.
* Offer assistance in fault situations during core business hours to maintain network stability.
* Liaise with stakeholders to extend the fibre network strategically.
* Support the introduction of new technologies onto the fibre network.
* Upload and update data in spatial and record-keeping systems to reflect completed construction, upgrades, and delivery projects as required.
* Proactively identify potential improvements to systems and processes to enhance efficiency.
* Collaborate in the implementation of improved systems and processes.
* Regularly provide updates to Department Seniors and Management on project progress.
* Participate in regular meetings as necessary to discuss ongoing initiatives.
* Assist Fibre Operation Teams as required to ensure seamless operations.
Requirements
* Prior experience in telecommunications in a similar role is highly valued.
* A high level of experience in planning out projects is essential.
* Good computer literacy skills are necessary for effective performance.
* A high level of experience using Microsoft software and GIS-based systems is crucial for success.
* Previous experience with Connect Master is desirable but not mandatory.
* Excellent communication skills are required to interact effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.
