An excellent opportunity exists for an enthusiastic and experienced Registered Midwifery Educator to join a friendly team of professionals at a private hospital in Melbourne. The role offers permanent part-time shifts across the maternity unit - 1-day a week.
**ABOUT THE ROLE**
As a Midwifery Educator, your responsibilities will include the following:
- Identifying educational needs by partnering with colleagues and Clinical Support Functions to determine team and individual learning;
- Work with other educators, universities and accredited training providers to facilitate the needs of undergraduate placements (including Bachelor Midwifery and General New Graduates, International nurses, new staff and midwifery and nursing staff in general);
- Prioritising patient safety and quality frameworks by identifying areas of improvement, participating in case reviews and clinical audits as required, initiating quality improvement projects, and when needed participating in National Safety & Quality Healthcare Standards and risk committees/ meetings;
- Acting as a valued member of the interdisciplinary team to provide exceptional patient care and quality education by providing supervision and teaching to staff and actively contributing to team processes and practices;
- Maintaining professional and constructive working relationships with the VMO partners, using a customer service mindset to enable high-quality patient outcomes.
**REQUIREMENTS**
- Current registration with AHPRA;
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Registered Midwife;
- Certificate IV Training and Assessment;
- Experience with preceptoring/educating graduate and/or undergraduate nurses;
- Working with Children check;
- Compliance with ACQSHC National standards;
- Highly developed clinical skills in maternity services: antenatal/birth suite/postnatal care;
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills;
- Adaptable and adaptable approach to work practice.
**ABOUT THE FACILITY**
Hospital, located in Melbourne, is a private facility that provides a full range of surgical and medical services, including a dedicated mental health unit and a full-service maternity unit, including mother and baby services. The hospital has
5 birthing suites, 16 postnatal beds and Special Care nursery able to care for babies 32-34 weeks. Childbirth Education via Zoom is offered. Mothers will stay from 4-5 nights, depending upon the type of delivery. 24-hour theatre and paediatric cover and overnight anaesthetic cover.
