We are seeking highly motivated and skilled PhD students to join our research team in statistical machine learning. The successful candidates will be working on various projects, including sequential decision making, data-driven spatio-temporal inference, and statistical analysis of physical models.
Research Topics:
* Sequential decision making and optimal design for targeted and efficient data acquisition.
* Data-driven spatio-temporal inference and prediction of complex ocean dynamic processes.
* Statistical analysis, emulation, and uncertainty quantification of physical models.
Project Overview:
The student will be a member of the Australian Research Council's (ARC) Industrial Transformation Research Hub for Transforming energy Infrastructure through Digital Engineering (TIDE). The TIDE brings together a vibrant international team of researchers in statistics, data science, and ocean engineering.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Master's degree or Honours undergraduate degree in Statistics, Machine Learning, or a closely related field.
* Excellent mathematical and programming skills.
* Strong research potential and good oral and written communication skills.
Benefits:
* Generous scholarship to fund studies for three years full-time.
* Tuition fees waived for outstanding international students.
* Opportunity to work with both Australian and international collaborators.
* Funding available for conference travel.
How to Apply:
