Project Officer Role Overview
The North Queensland Region Corridor Management team is seeking a skilled and efficient Project Officer to provide specialist technical knowledge and support for the effective operation and project delivery of works supporting corridor management activities in Far North District.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage the maintenance program for vacant land in the TMR Far North District.
* Coordinate the road declaration process as required by the Department of Transport and Main Roads.
* Provide technical support, advice, coordination, guidance, training, and mentoring in delivering Corridor Management activities in Far North District.
* Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to assess impacts and risks associated with proposed changes in tenure potentially affecting the state-controlled road network and its operation.
* Assess applications for stakeholders seeking access to transport corridors managed by TMR using principles for approving third-party uses, managing potential conflict and risk.
* Support the district's Project Planning team to ensure planning is appropriately protected and the PRISM database current and relevant.
* Review and assess property enquiries for external stakeholders ensuring critical timeframes are met.
Requirements:
* Holding a valid Class C driver license.
* Eligibility to work in Australia.
* Pre-employment check of serious discipline history as a condition of employment.
* Desirable: Experience in traffic and transport principles, modern corridor management practices, and processes, and the range of state-controlled road corridor management matters such as utility and access management and external party works in road corridors.
