Details: The City and Environment Directorate is looking for an experienced and motivated Assistant Director to help lead the ACT Container Deposit Scheme expansion. This role supports both strategic work and day‑to‑day program delivery in a fast‑paced regulatory and contractual environment.
You will manage projects from planning through to implementation, oversee procurement and financial analysis, and support continuous improvement across the scheme. The role also involves preparing key documents, analysing data, contributing to governance activities, and ensuring compliance with legislation, policies and contractual requirements.
Strong stakeholder engagement is essential. You will work closely with scheme partners, government agencies, industry representatives, and community organisations, representing ACT NoWaste in negotiations and discussions that influence the performance and future direction of the scheme.
We are seeking someone with experience in project delivery, financial and contract management and stakeholder engagement. Knowledge of product stewardship is an advantage. Strong writing skills and the ability to work confidently in both strategic and operational settings are important.
