Third Engineer
About the Role
This position involves safe operation of main engine and boiler, performing day work in conjunction with rotating 24 hour system, including fuel and lube oil purifiers, air compressors, boiler and boiler feed water control and heat exchanges as directed.
The Third Engineer will be responsible for maintaining the Fuel and Lube Oil Purification system, boiler maintenance and feed water control, compressed air machinery and domestic services as required.
This role requires a strong understanding of Class and Standing Orders, as well as experience with AMSA Marine Order 72 – Engineer Class 3.
Required Skills and Qualifications
* Educational requirement: AMSA Marine Order 72 – Engineer Class 3 (required)
* AMSA Engine Watchkeeper (Class 3) CoC/CoR Unlimited
* Minimum 12 months relevant experience in related role including at least 36 weeks of sea service on vessels with propulsion power ≥750 kilowatts
* Certificate of Safety Training (STCW) (desirable)
* Work Safely at Heights Certification (desirable)
* Enter and Work in Confined Space Certification (desirable)
* Hold, or be eligible to obtain a Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC) (required)
* Australian Citizen or unlimited Australian Working Rights
