We are seeking dedicated Cooks to support our kitchen services. In this role you will have the opportunity to prepare, cook and serve nutritious, wholesome, and appetising meals in line with approved recipes and menus—all while upholding the core values of the Uniting Church in Australia, Queensland Synod.

Position purpose:
The primary purpose of this role is to prepare and cook quality dishes for Alexandra Park Conference Centre and its patrons.
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare and cook a range of dishes in line with approved recipes, ensuring quality is maintained.
* Supervise and train fellow cooks and kitchen staff to ensure consistent quality.
* Identify strategies to improve service delivery, suggesting enhancements to policies, processes, and the overall work environment.
* Work alongside other departments to support overall service excellence.
* Work in accordance with our Code of Conduct, workplace health and safety legislation, and other relevant policies—including timely reporting of hazards or incidents.
Qualifications & Experience:
* Certificate III in Commercial Cookery including at least two years of on-the-job training, or Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent). At least three years of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualifications.
* At least one year of relevant, full-time equivalent work experience within the last 5 years
* Suitability Card for Child Related Employment (Blue Card)
* Valid Australian working rights
* Commitment to excellent personal hygiene, attention to detail, and quality customer service.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
* A genuine commitment to the mission, values, and policies of the Uniting Church in Australia, Queensland Synod.
Remuneration
This position is covered by the Hospitality Industry (General) Award.
Annual salary $75K – 78K
