NPY Women's Council is an Anangu-led organisation delivering critical health, social and cultural services across the Ngaanyatjarra, Pitjantjatjara and Yankunytjatjara (NPY) Lands. Guided by women's law, culture and strong governance, we work to support all Anangu—especially women and children—to live well in both worlds.


About the Role


The Administration Manager plays a key leadership role in ensuring NPY Women's Council operates safely, efficiently and with strong behind-the-scenes systems. This position oversees facilities, fleet, Emergency Relief Funding (ERF), and administrative systems, while championing workplace health and safety (WHS) across the organisation.

Based in Mparntwe (Alice Springs), the role includes regular travel to remote communities.


What Success Looks Like


In this role, you will:

* Ensure facilities across all sites are safe, compliant, well-maintained and fit for purpose
* Proactively manage a reliable, roadworthy and cost-effective vehicle fleet
* Strengthen asset management systems, budgeting and forward planning
* Build strong, value-for-money relationships with contractors and suppliers
* Embed consistent, high-quality administrative support across programs
* Champion a strong WHS culture, systems and compliance
* Support and mentor Anangu staff within the Administration team


Key Responsibilities


Facilities & Asset Management

* Oversee offices, staff housing and accommodation facilities
* Coordinate repairs, maintenance, inspections and capital works
* Maintain accurate property, lease, asset and compliance records
* Develop multi-year maintenance and budget forecasts

Fleet & Vehicle Oversight

* Manage the full vehicle lifecycle (acquisition to disposal)
* Ensure safety, insurance and compliance standards
* Monitor usage, costs and maintenance trends
* Lead improvements in fleet systems and policies

Administration & Systems Leadership

* Lead and improve administrative processes and documentation
* Support reporting, governance and records management
* Identify opportunities to streamline systems and reduce risk

Emergency Relief Funding (ERF)

* Oversee ERF management in coordination with specialist staff
* Liaise with ERF partners and stakeholders

Work Health & Safety (WHS)

* Provide leadership in WHS culture and compliance
* Support audits, training and system improvements

People & Culture

* Lead, mentor and support Administration team members
* Champion Anangu employment and development
* Model culturally respectful, trauma-informed ways of working


About You


You are a confident and solutions-focused leader with:

* Experience managing facilities, assets and/or fleet
* Strong understanding of WHS and compliance requirements
* Excellent organisational, budgeting and problem-solving skills
* Ability to work effectively with contractors and stakeholders
* High level of integrity, reliability and accountability
* Cultural awareness and respect for Anangu perspectives


Qualifications


Essential:

* Qualifications in Administration, Business, Management or extensive relevant experience
* Formal WHS qualifications

Desirable:

* Experience in a Not-for-Profit or community-controlled organisation
* Knowledge of NPY Lands and cultures


Special Conditions

* Current Australian manual driver's licence
* Willingness to travel and work out of hours when required
* First Aid certificate (or willingness to obtain)
* Ability to operate manual 4WD (or willingness to learn)
* Working with Children Check & National Police Clearance
