We are offering an excellent opportunity for a skilled
Mechanical Installer
to join our experienced projects and operations team. In this role, you will be responsible for
mechanical installations, commissioning, and maintenance of water infrastructure
, ensuring systems are delivered safely, to specification, and performing to required standards.
The ideal candidate will have a strong
mechanical trade background (pipefitter/plumber)
with exposure to water treatment environments. A
Certificate III in Water Industry Treatment
is highly preferred.
The Role
This position is a mix of
FIFO and Perth-based work
, supporting projects and operational sites across Australia.
Day-to-day responsibilities include:
Mechanical installation of water and wastewater treatment infrastructure
piping, valves, brackets/supports, spooling and skids
pump installations and alignments
Workshop fabrication and pre-assembly of mechanical packages prior to mobilisation
Assisting with plant and equipment commissioning, including
mechanical checks and pre-start inspections
supporting functional testing alongside electrical/instrumentation teams
Preventative and reactive maintenance on treatment plant mechanical assets
Fault finding and repair of pumps, pipework, dosing systems, and mechanical components
Maintaining accurate site records, installation QA documents, and commissioning checklists
Working safely and professionally in remote FIFO locations and metro Perth worksites
Liaising with site/client representatives to ensure installations meet operational needs
About You
To be successful in this role you will have:
Proven mechanical installation experience in industrial/process environments
Strong understanding of piping systems, valves, pumps, and mechanical fit-out
Ability to work autonomously, read drawings including PFD's, P&ID's, schedules, manuals & ITPs in support of projects
Commissioning exposure or willingness to learn commissioning processes
A proactive, solutions-focused approach and high safety standards
Qualifications / Requirements
Permanent Australian Residency (no work restrictions)
Must be Perth (WA) based
Mechanical Plumber / Pipefitter Trade Certificate
(essential)
Certificate III in Water Industry Treatment
(highly preferred)
Valid Australian Driver's Licence
Ability to travel FIFO as required
Reporting to the Construction Manager, your key focus will be:
Completing mechanical installations of water infrastructure, including
pipework, valves, supports/bracketing and equipment fit-outs
Supporting and completing commissioning of plant and mechanical equipment
Ensuring installs are safe, compliant, and commissioned ready for operations handover
